As many of my classmates have shared, I am also guilty of thinking of an e-portfolio as a kind of online glory wall, meant to advertize the owner by only showing their best work and accomplishments, not unlike one's Facebook wall is designed to make their life look perfect. After some reflection on the reading assignments I've realized that an eportfolio might very well be that for some, but it doesn't have to be for all. It is what you make of it. For me, I'm quite comfortable with the About Me and Professional Bio pages, but when it comes to the nitty gritty, not so pretty stuff - the failures, learning reflections, and blog posts, I'm going to struggle. But isn't that what growth is all about? The struggle?
So I suppose I'm glad for this opportunity, as scary as it is, to grow.
